The journey every new mother faces can be exciting. And sometimes confusing or frightening. But it shouldn’t be isolating. Using the HealthConnect One model, mom has a community health worker — usually a community-based doula or a breastfeeding peer counselor — by her side.
We asked our staff, along with friends and allies on social media, to share their journeys by using the hashtag #MapYourJourney.
Here is some of what they shared:
Gil Zamora – Development Coordinator
Lucy Bickford – Board Member
Tytina Sanders-Bey – Breastfeeding Peer Counselor and CLC
Cindy Ogrin – Development Director
Eusebia Qureshi – Project Coordinator
Brenda Reyes – Program Manager
RoiAnn Phillips – Communications Manager
Helen Dimas – Program Coordinator
Now we invite you to browse the stories above — or to share your own words, photos, artwork or vines on social media with the hashtag #MapYourJourney. We also encourage you to share the graphics below with your networks, to let people know the impact of community health workers on a family’s journey.
Where are you on the journey?
